Paper B52 - Part 1 - What's in the box?
| To begin with, there's no box. I bought this model from GPM in Poland in September of 2014, and it is in the form of a book that is 16.5 inches by 12 inches. The book contains 35 pages (explained in greater detail below). |

The inside front cover has instructions, but they are written in
Polish. I translated a few single words and got a fairly good idea
about what's going on. Then, I finally sat down and typed the
whole thing into a Word document, then submitted it to Google
translate. That helped a lot, but non-human translations always
leave a bit to be desired. Here's an example of what I ended up with:
Construction of the model starts with the implementation of Hull. Segments 1, 2, 3 do not make trouble. Before gluing segments 4, 5, 6, construct the pilots cabin, segments 19 to 26 (Fig. Auxiliary). Segments 4, 5, 6 are fixed together in this way, with the lower part paste double frames, ie. 4b to 5a and 5b to 6a, while the upper parts are concatenated sklejkami. Apparently, Google has no idea what "sklejkami" means...it just gave that word back to me. I expect it to be pretty obvious when I get to that point. |

| Actually, the biggest help at how to assemble the thing are two numbered drawings. These show the placement of internal bulkheads and sheets of "skin." Also, it's important to notice that they numbered the model pieces with a certain order using numbers and letters (for instance, 34a and 27b). The wings seem to be mostly in the 32, 33 and 34 range...engine pod parts all start with "37." The drawings and number groupings are the most helpful aspect. |
|
| There are 14 pages that are printed on normal thickness paper. These pages contain templates for bulkheads and other parts that need to be made with a material stronger than 67-pound paper (approximately the thickness of an index card). The idea is to cut the thin-paper template out, glue it to 1 or 2 millimeter cardboard (approximately what you find on the back of a writing tablet), then cut that part out. In the numbered drawing above you can see those parts fitted together to form the internal structure of the main fuselage. |
|
| The rest of the kit consists of 21 pages printed on what seems to be 110-pound paper (slightly thicker than a standard index card). These are mostly the parts that will form the skin of the model. This picture shows a page that is about 16 x 12, and contains one wing tip and some parts that go on the aft section of the fuselage under the horizontal tail. |
